Urban Intersection | Original Mixed-Media Painting

A city seen from above, where every road crosses another.

Urban Intersection is a bold abstract painting built around a web of white bands. The background is a patchwork of dry-brushed color: rust brown, warm ochre, slate blue, and dusty violet-gray. The strokes drag downward in long, streaky lines, and the canvas weave shows through, so the surface feels weathered, like old steel, brick, or a painted warehouse wall. Flecks of worn paint have chipped away at the left edge and exposed bare patches underneath.

Across it, thick white beams sweep diagonally from the lower left toward the upper right. They cross, overlap, and fan out like highway overpasses, bridge cables, or the lines of a rail yard seen from above. Their edges are crisp, and in places a faint blush of rust-colored mist drifts across the white, which softens it and gives it a lived-in look. Where the beams leave gaps, the colored ground shows through in sharp wedges and slivers.

The details give it the feeling of real structure. Pairs of fine black lines run along the edges of the beams like rails or cast shadows. Short gray dashes march along the lower beams like lane markers on a road. Soft gray shadows fall to one side of the white, which makes the bands look raised above the ground. A rough, dry-brushed edge on the upper left looks like torn tape or peeling paint.

It is geometric and weathered at the same time, precise in the lines and rough in the ground. The whole composition rushes toward the upper right with real speed.

At 24" × 20", it is a strong piece for an office, a loft, a living room, or a hallway, and its rust, slate, and white palette suits industrial, modern, and minimalist interiors.

For collectors who love architectural abstraction with grit.
