Astral Rain

Astral Rain | Original Mixed-Media Painting

There is a moment just before a storm when the light does something extraordinary — when the sky holds both radiance and weight at once, and everything below seems to pause and wait.

Astral Rain captures that moment and makes it permanent.

A luminous, cloud-like formation crowns the upper canvas, built from layers of silver and copper leaf that catch and scatter light with an otherworldly shimmer. The metallic surface is textured and alive — organic in the way that clouds are organic, never quite the same from one angle to the next. Warm copper breaks through the silver in irregular, glowing patches, giving the formation a heat and presence that feels almost celestial. Something between a sun and a storm. Something that cannot quite be named.

Below it, a soft and serene field of layered blues stretches toward the lower canvas — cool, atmospheric, and luminous in its own quieter way. And descending through that blue expanse, thin lines of aluminum wire fall diagonally across the surface like rain caught mid-fall, like light streaking through atmosphere, like the precise and fleeting marks that pass between one moment and the next. Rendered in deep blue, black, white, and warm gold, each wire is a single drawn breath — fine, deliberate, and impossibly graceful against the painted ground.

The contrast between the organic shimmer of the metallic leaf and the linear precision of the wire is where Astral Rain finds its quiet tension. Softness and structure. The eternal and the ephemeral. A sky that holds both at once.

A breathtaking and genuinely one-of-a-kind work for collectors who seek paintings that carry light into a room in the most literal and luminous sense.
