Abstract is exactly that — a painting stripped of narrative and left with pure sensation. A warm, luminous copper ground covers the entire canvas, rich and radiant, catching light the way aged metal does — with a depth that seems to come from within rather than from the surface. It is the kind of warmth that draws you in before you've decided to look.

Then the gray arrives.

Splashes and drips of cool gray and black move across the copper with an organic, unscripted energy — scattering across the upper canvas like debris caught in wind, pooling and surging along the lower edge like a tide coming in. On the right side, dark streaks descend from the top in long, deliberate lines, glossy and weighted, cutting through the warmth with a presence that is both disruptive and entirely right.

The tension between the two — copper warmth and cool gray — is where the painting lives. Neither dominates completely. Neither retreats. They exist in a dynamic equilibrium that shifts depending on the light in the room and the angle of your view.

Acrylic and spray paint build a surface that is layered and textural, alive with the evidence of process and gesture. This is a painting made by a hand in motion, and that motion never fully disappears from the finished work.
