Abyss | Original Acrylic Painting
In the middle of all that chaos, something holds perfectly still.
Abyss is a wide, panoramic painting that commands a wall the way a landscape commands a horizon — expansively, completely, with a quiet insistence that you stop and stay a while. Across 45 inches of raw, textured surface, warm earth tones of brown, tan, gold, and cream move together in broad, gestural strokes, building a ground that feels ancient and atmospheric — like weathered terrain seen from above, or the surface of something vast and barely understood.
Through that layered earth, dark paint has been flung and dragged and looped in wild, organic lines — tendrils of deep brown and black that arc and tangle and scatter across the entire composition with the energy of something uncontrolled. They move like roots, or cracks, or neural pathways. Like the way thought moves when it cannot be quieted.
And then, slightly off-center, the red circle.
It sits in the midst of all that motion with an almost impossible stillness. Bold, saturated, and perfectly resolved — it neither competes with the chaos around it nor retreats from it. It simply exists, radiating a quiet intensity that pulls the entire painting into focus. Every frantic line, every layered stroke of earth and shadow, seems to move around it, toward it, because of it.
Abyss is a painting about finding a fixed point when everything around you is in motion. About the thing that remains when everything else keeps moving.
A striking, large-scale work that becomes the visual anchor of any room it inhabits.
